Liebster Award Nomination

Liebster Award

So, this week, the lovely Jill from Owlish Dreams (go and check out her amazing blog) nominated me for the Liebster Award. If you haven't heard of it before (where have you been?), here's the deal: The Liebster Award is aimed at spreading the news about up and coming bloggers, and gives recognition to newer blogs. Along the way, nominees have to share a few facts about themselves, as well as answer a few questions. So, here we go!

Liebster Award Rules:
-Link back to the person who nominated you
-Post 11 facts about yourself.
-Answer the 11 questions set by your nominator
-Nominate 11 other bloggers with under 200 followers (you can't nominate the person who nominated you)
-Set 11 questions for your nominees to answer
-Let your nominees know you've nominated them.

11 Facts About Me:
  1. I speak with a slight Welsh accent, due to living so close to Wales. Shamefully though, I can't speak any Welsh!
  2. A couple of years ago, I used to work in a bank. Although it really didn't suit me, it taught me a lot about myself.
  3. I'm quite a quiet, introverted person. Perhaps it doesn't come across in my writing, but in real life, I'm not much of a talker.
  4. My favourite colour is blue - any shade of blue. Duck egg is such a lovely calming colour, whilst cobalt is so visually striking.
  5. I have never watched a horror movie. It's just really not my kind of thing.
  6. You probably wouldn't guess this in a million years, but I can make balloon animals and spin plates. No, I didn't run away to join the circus, I was just a very odd child!
  7. I work part time in a bakery, where I decorate and package cakes. A definite perk is sometimes getting free cake!
  8. Even though I'm not a vegetarian, I don't eat a lot of meat.
  9. When I was younger, I used to play the violin. I never stuck with it long enough to be much good, but someday I'd love to be able to play an instrument properly.
  10. As a hobby, I really enjoy writing - stories in particular. A lot of them never get finished, but I still love doing it because I find it really relaxing and therapeutic.
  11. I am 5'7" - apparently as tall as the world's longest moustache was long!
Jill's Questions:

Which country would you love to visit the most?
France is definitely at the top of my list at the moment. I won't lie - mainly because of the food.
What's your favourite band/musical artist?
I'm fiercely loyal to my all time favourite band, The Killers, although at the moment I'm also really loving Elbow.
What is your favourite kind of posts to make/write?
I love a DIY post, even though they are probably the most time consuming to make.
And what is your favourite post to read?
Anything where the writer is obviously passionate about their chosen subject makes for brilliant reading.
Do you have a role model? Who is it?
My role models are more likely to be people I know - my family, friends, and people I've met who have done incredible things.
What was the last book you read?
The Burial at Thebes by Seamus Heaney. There is no way of describing it without sounding like a pretentious a-hole (it's poetry meets Sophocles), but I really enjoyed it. At the moment, I'm reading Lord of the Flies.
What is your most precious possession?
I have some fairly sentimental pieces of jewellery, but nothing beats memories of good times with great people.
What do you love most about blogging?
This is really hard to answer, as I've grown to love every element of blogging! Can I say everything?
Coffee or tea? (or hot chocolate?)
Tea. No question.
What's the craziest thing you've ever done?
When I was young, I went to summer school one year, and as a team building exercise, we were asked to build rafts. For some reason, I volunteered to try out our raft first, and the whole thing capsized!
Describe yourself with two words.
Scatty. Odd.
